From the asphalt road, it makes its way along paths and dirt roads surrounded by woodland, where you can enjoy the gentle murmur of the little watercourses that sprint through the landscape, and the chirping of the birds in the trees.
On this delightful journey through nature, the first stop we recommend is in Canale d’Agordo, the birthplace of Albino Luciani, Pope John Paul I, for a visit to the museum and the home where he spent his childhood; afterwards, you can take a wander amid the old haysheds and through the little streets of the village, heading in the direction of the unspoilt Val di Gares.

In this spellbinding valley, you can admire splendid waterfalls, part of the peaks in the Pale di San Martino group, with the three Campanili dei Lastei, a view of the Comelle Plateau, and the little village of Gares, which offers the chance to explore some local history. The more experienced can continue along the route, which now becomes more challenging, paying a visit to the long-established Malga Stia alpine dairy hut, where you can enjoy the wholesome produce and typical flavours of the Belluno Dolomites, as you admire the splendid views out over the Agner, Comelle and Focobon.

.

.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”white” active_section=”1″ el_class=”custom-icon”][vc_tta_section i_type=”typicons” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-chart-line-outline” add_icon=”true” title=”Departure” tab_id=”1602666458804-a3befdb4-71224293-7a831139-7b99″][vc_column_text]

Falcade

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_type=”typicons” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-chart-line-outline” add_icon=”true” title=”Arrival” tab_id=”1602666553653-f66d7ea8-e87d4293-7a831139-7b99″][vc_column_text]

Falcade

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_type=”typicons” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-weather-snow” add_icon=”true” title=”Pay attention” tab_id=”1621197534288-3dbd9890-2846″][vc_column_text]

The stretch between Falcade and Canale, at Caviola, is currently inaccessible due to work being carried out.

Near Malga Stia, forestry work is on-going.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_type=”typicons” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-time” add_icon=”true” title=”Time required” tab_id=”1602666458841-64987c4b-cbf94293-7a831139-7b99″][vc_column_text]

Half day only Val Gares, full day with Malga Stia

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_type=”typicons” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-weather-snow” add_icon=”true” title=”Path length” tab_id=”1602666458952-d22c1709-3e5d4293-7a831139-7b99″][vc_column_text]

About 30 km with ascent to Malga Stia.
