Walk along the orographic left of the Gaon stream, along a well beaten path that will take you towards Valt (1302 m). From here, continue on to the Barezze Waterfall. You can take the <strong>cableway<\/strong> up from <em>the <strong>San Pellegrino Pass<\/strong><\/em>. The path, which is clearly marked, then runs into the woods, where you can admire the beauty of this unspoilt nature, with the magical waters of the Gares Lake that await you at the end of the route.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the lush plant life, you can admire a number of different types of animals, such as roe deer, as well as birds and amphibians that live on the edges of the lake. In the damper months, among the plants, you can also spot different types of both edible and poisonous mushrooms growing near the trees. The numerous species of fungi of the <strong>Gares biotope<\/strong>, and indeed the whole of the Gares Valley, is protected and monitored, because it is very important for the <strong>well-being of the surrounding woodland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This <strong>experience<\/strong> is particularly <strong>suitable for families<\/strong>, and for anyone who enjoys observing the delightfully shifting colours of nature in every season. The work of these painters was often \u201cbartered\u201d for food and lodgings for a few days, to rest before setting off again on the tiring return journey.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the votive frescoes, the Valle coi Santi alle Finestre also offers the chance to admire some <strong>delightful little villages<\/strong>, with centuries-old haysheds, rural houses, roadside shrines and fountains, accompanied by the magnificent scenery of the <strong>Dolomite mountains<\/strong>, from the <strong>Cime del Focobon<\/strong> to the <strong>Cime dell\u2019Auta peaks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Val del Biois<\/strong> is also the <strong>birthplace<\/strong> of a number of famous figures, both religious &#8211; el_id=&#8221;dolomiti-miniatures&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>DOLOMITES ROCK MINIATURES &#8211; The Dolomites in miniature<\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h6>From San Tomaso to Vallada Agordina<\/h6>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1655116783232{padding-top: 15px !important;}&#8221;]This appealing route, offering a \u201c<strong>smart tour<\/strong>\u201d among the <strong>most famous peaks<\/strong> of the nine mountain groups that make up the Dolomites, starts out in the neighbourhood of <em>Celat\u00a0<\/em>(San Tomaso Agordino),\u00a0and runs for a few kilometres in the direction of the saddle that links the <strong>San Tomaso<\/strong> area with the municipality bordering on <strong>Vallada Agordina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Created between 2017 and 2019, the project was promoted by the Municipal Council of <em>San Tomaso Agordino, <\/em>with the Patronage of the <strong>Dolomiti Unesco Foundation<\/strong>, the Agordo section of the <strong>Italian Alpine Club <\/strong>and the<strong> Pro Loco tourist association of San Tomaso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The 10 artists from all over the world engaged in the project sculpted 10 mountains of the Unesco Dolomites from a block of dolomite rock. Visitors can admire these scaled-down versions of the <strong>Pelmo<\/strong>, <strong>Tre Cime di Lavaredo<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Civetta<\/strong>, <strong>Campanile di Val Montanaia<\/strong>, <strong>Torri del Vajolet<\/strong>, <strong>Antelao<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>El Cor<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Campanil Basso del Brenta, Tofana di Rozes, and of course the Queen of the<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Dolomites: the Marmolada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2021, during the summer sculpture symposium, another three artists created a further three <strong>Dolomite peaks<\/strong>: two belonging to the <strong>Pale di San Martino Group &#8211;
