Valle Imperina Mining Centre, a little piece of history in the Agordino area where time has stood still…
After remaining closed for years, the Valle Imperina Mining Centre officially reopened on 25 May 2024, thanks to the local company Botol Group, which has taken over the management of the Centre, allowing visitors to the Agordino area to enjoy this tourist attraction once more.
The activities on offer include visits accompanied by guides trained at the Umberto Follador – De Rossi Mining School in Agordo, museum visits and educational workshops.
These activities provide important teaching resources for the numerous schools visiting the Centre.
A visit to the Mining Centre is a unique experience, offering locals and tourists alike the chance to find out more about the history of the area and the art of mining, as well as anthropological questions such as the etymology of both mining language and common parlance.
We offer three types of guided tours:
- Complete tour, comprising a visit to the three galleries (Santa Barbara, Fusinella and Magni), the Melting Furnaces complex, the Mazzoli Museum and other museums in preparation. The tour covers 3 km and lasts approximately three and a half hours;
- Tour of the galleries only lasting approximately two hours;
- Tour of the Melting Furnaces and the museums only, lasting just under an hour.
Prices:
- Complete tour: Single ticket €28.00 – Concessions (visitors under 12 and over 65): € 15.00;
- Group ticket: € 25.00 per person;
- Tour of the galleries only: Ticket €18,00;
- Tour of the Melting Furnaces and the museums: Ticket €15,00.
Free for children aged 3 – 11 inclusive and visitors with disabilities.
Visiting times
- until June 1, 2025 from Friday to Sunday;
- From June 2, 2025, visits will be open every day!
Guided tours must be booked in advance.
Guided tours take place twice a day:
- Morning 9.00 a.m.
- Afternoon 2.00 p.m
Booking is mandatory for the guided tours.
Recommended clothing::
For the tours, we recommend:
- technical clothing
- waterproof shoes/boots
- helmet and oilskin jacket, supplied by the Centre staff before the tour.
