Val del Biois Land of Kids

A packed programme of activities organised by the Equipe Ski School in Falcade, with KIDS ACTIVE, designed to make sure your kids have plenty of fun during the summer holidays in the Val del Biois.

Walks offering a simple yet constructive account of the Great War, vie ferrate, climbs and Heidi’s Grandfather’s Mountain Hut, where kids can experience the mountain lifestyle: these are just some of the many activities planned for children aged between 5 and 12.

The Val del Biois is increasingly deserving of a reputation as a Land of Kids, with holiday packages on offer with families in mind. Kids Active has created ways to help your children get to know, experience and respect the mountains, offering them the chance to enjoy the great outdoors in complete safety, constantly under the watchful, professional eye of the guides and staff of the Equipe ski school.

Kids Active will take place every week in the months of June, July and August. You can choose one or more days of activities, or a full-week package

•  €50 per day of activities
•  €70 for days of activities that require an alpine guide to accompany the group
•  €250 for a full week

And while the kids are busy, mum and dad can get their own adrenalin rush tackling some of the Dolomite trails on a mountain bike or e-bike, accompanied by professional guides, or take a trip up to an alpine hut accompanied by alpine guides and mid-mountain guides available also for trekking routes and vie ferrate.

Sets of equipment for the vie ferrate, mountain bikes and e-bikes for your outdoor activities can all be hired from the Equipe Ski School in Falcade.
The ski school also organises tennis lessons for the whole family during July and August.

Il Mondo di Nocciolino is a fun park for children aged 0 – 12, located on the Falcade Plain and equipped with fantastic inflatables and other colourful play facilities, perfect for allowing kids to let off steam in complete safety, while mum and dad can relax in the area next to the Park, where you will also find a refreshment area.
The Park is open every day in the summer, until the beginning of September.

The summer season 2024 will begin on June.

The Wood of Artist and the Ant Garden are one of the many themed trails in the Val del Biois. They are located in Le Buse, about 1800 m above sea level, reachable by cable car from the hamlet of Molino. The children will be greeted by the cute mascot, the ant Rufa, who will let them enter his world. They will make friends with her tireless colleagues and meet along the path of the forest beautiful wooden sculptures depicting animals and other installations carved by various artists over the years, that make this fairy tale place even more enchanted.

Vertik Area Dolomiti is a highly innovative indoor rock climbing wall, with a number of technical features that make it an outstanding facility in the sport climbing sector.
It is the only indoor climbing facility in the Veneto region with a speed climbing wall also approved for seniors, and the first in Italy to use, in the training area, a Slovenian LED system that lights up the bolts and an app to track the route.
The facility is suitable not only for expert climbers, and also organises courses for mountain-loving beginners and children interested in learning the discipline.

Exploring nature with some special… four-legged company!
Trekking with Pascal’s donkeys will offer you the chance to rediscover the simple life in the slow lane, in tune with the nature around you.
You’ll be accompanied all the way not only by Pascal and Mayra, but by some friendly donkeys, who will wait patiently for you every time you stop to admire the beauty of nature at your leisure.

This unique experience is also perfect for enjoying with the younger members of the family.

The Astronomical Observatory can be found in San Tomaso Agordino, a small village perched on the mountainside. It was officially opened in 2004, and is run by the Agordino Amateur Astronomers’ Association.
During the evenings organised at the Planetarium, visitors will have the chance to use the telescope to observe all the heavenly bodies, the celestial vault and the constellations.
Here at the Planetarium, every child who dreams of becoming a scientist or an astronaut will have the chance to let their imagination run riot, as they discover and admire the stars and planets in the Galaxy.

An enchanting path that runs through the woods, offering a fascinating walk lasting a couple of hours, where visitors of all ages can admire human-sized versions of the most important Dolomite peaks!
These 20 rock sculptures carved by international artists are scale reproductions of the most beautiful peaks in the Dolomites, including the Tre Cime, Marmolada, Civetta and many, many more.
A truly adventurous experience for kids, who can set off, map in hand, to explore the Dolomites in miniature, finding out where they are located and the nature they’re surrounded by!

A new outdoor activity for children and their families to discover the hidden corners of the Dolomites.
Considering its unquestionable educational value, this sport is highly recommended for children. Armed with a compass and a map, orienteering teaches them to navigate the natural landscape, amid woodland, streams and age-old hamlets.
It’s a sport in which mind and body interact smoothly and efficiently, a walk that teaches us to put our abilities to the test.

The marvellous Col Margherita geological park is a rewarding high-altitude route, with a lookout point from which you can admire the Dolomites from every angle.

You’ll have the chance to discover the history of these magical mountains that rose up from the sea, finding out about the composition of dolomite rock, with its fossils. All you’ll need are the descriptive tables and the help of the three facilities located along the route.

This journey back in time is suitable for families, offering an appealing experience focused on science and nature to tell everyone about when you get back from your holiday.
