Head into the centre of Falcade, and take Riva de San Bastian, the old mule track that once linked the valley bottom with the Falcade Alto neighbourhood.
Continue until the village of Somor, and take the attractive Coste path that links the villages at the top of the Valley. At the end of the path, cross the bridge over the Gavon torrent, which will take you to the neighbourhoods of Canes/Marmolada/Sappade.

Day 4 Caviola – San Tomaso
From Caviola, walk towards La Mora along the no. 346 Passo di San Pellegrino provincial road. From here, take the local asphalt road to Carfon and continue to Gaer, like the previous day.
Take the asphalt road down to the village of Sachet, then head up to the church of San Simon (path number V8). This church is a national monument, and contains works by Paris Bordone. Guided tours available.
Double back to Sachet, where you can have lunch at the L’Ariet restaurant (or eat a packed lunch). From Sachet, take path no. V13 and then V12 for the San Tomaso saddle.
From the San Tomaso saddle, go down towards Celat along the Miniature Dolomites route, the only place where you can admire all the mountain ranges that make up the UNESCO Dolomites, thanks to the sculptures made from dolomite rock scattered along the way. Option to take a 1-hour detour for Piz Croce, to admire the 360-degree views from the top that take in Monte Civetta and Monte Pelsa, the Pale di San Lucano, the Pale di San Martino and the Marmolada.
Carry on along the Miniature Dolomites route until you reach Celat, the main neighbourhood of San Tomaso Agordino, where you’ll find the Off Line pizzeria.
Here you can visit the 18th-century church, the Planetarium with a digital telescope, or enjoy a thrilling zipline experience in complete safety, with views of Monte Civetta.
You can also try your hand at indoor climbing, at Vertik Area Dolomiti.

Day 5 Sasso Bianco Refuge
This itinerary is feasible from June to October only, when there is no snow and when the Sasso Bianco Refuge may be open.
This is a more challenging route than the others, due to the high elevation gain, but your efforts will be rewarded by the magnificent views!
Compared to the other stages, which run through the villages on the valley bottom, this route climbs up to the 1840 m altitude of the refuge, perched on a splendid grassy terrace dotted with characteristic haylofts.
The marvellous views of the north-west face of Monte Civetta makes this a truly special place, a paradise for those seeking peace and quiet.
From Celat, the route climbs up towards Mezzavalle and Costa di Mezzo, to the village of Costoia. From here, take the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) path that leads to the Sasso Bianco Refuge. After lunch, return through the village of Piaia, then head towards Pecol, Costa di Mezzo and Mezzavalle, and back to Celat.

Day 6 San Tomaso – Cencenighe
From San Tomaso Agordino, go down through the villages of Tocol and Fontanelle to Cencenighe Agordino.
From here, go back up to the charming little neighbourhoods of Chenet and Bastiani, from which the “Troi de le lal“ starts out. The charcoal pits along this trail were an invaluable resource for the area in the past.
From Bastiani, head up a steep mule track; in about 15/20 minutes, you’ll reach the ancient neighbourhood of Bricol (1097 m). The clearly indicated route winds its way through a total of 29 Iàl; these charcoal pits are all marked with their name and number on the tables provided.
The route leads back to Cencenighe, where the Sherpa bus will take you back to your car, or to the start of the trekking trail.
